These three clubs will continue acting as the three key pillars of VACD.

TheLEADER, led by editor-in-chief Nguyen Cao Cuong, will carry on its role as the business leader forum and press office of VACD.

VACD was founded 12 years ago in the context of Vietnam’s joining the World Trade Organization and on the back of ongoing concerns on poor corporate governance and management of Vietnamese enterprises at the time.

VACD identifies its mission of building a better corporate governance foundation for every enterprise member and the entire business community in the country.

The association has fruitfully organised dozens of consulting and policy review seminars, as well as hundreds of training and coaching sessions related to various aspects of corporate governance and many other professional areas over the years.

With due efforts, each member of the VACD has contributed greatly to the association’s prominent achievements over the past periods. The awareness of business leaders on the role of corporate governance has been changed in a positive way. A more professional approach to corporate governance has now been correspondingly recognised among enterprises.

VACD chairman Tien acknowledged that there are a lot of tasks needed to be done in the coming time, as existing challenges still persist to threaten the development and competitive capability of many enterprises.

Tien thus affirmed the urgent need for changes to happen in the association itself given the rising of the fourth industrial revolution and deeper integration with the world, which at the end of the day may lead to additional challenges in corporate governance practices.

Striving for better corporate governance will therefore be the unchanged goal of the association.

In the coming years, VACD will further promote consulting activities, especially for small- and medium-sized enterprises, while updating training skills as well as adopting advanced technologies in VACD’s practices.
